Our School Motto ‘Caring and Working Together’

We talk a lot in our school about what it means to be a ‘Lodge Farmer’. Our pupils believe that being a Lodge Farmer means that we care for each other, support each other and work together well. Being a Lodge Farmer and our school motto of ‘Caring and working together’ go hand in hand.

School Aims and Ethos

At Lodge Farm, we believe that all children should be provided with a wide range of opportunities to develop and grow as an individual, who shapes their own future. We aim to equip our children with the skills, knowledge and self-belief to flourish and seize the opportunities the world offers.

We aim to ensure that pupils at Lodge Farm experience some success in school and have positive attitudes about themselves, becoming socially aware and become caring members of society.

British Values Information

We actively promote British Values at Lodge Farm to ensure young people leave in Year 6 prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views, all people living in England are subject to its law.

How we address each value at Lodge Farm:

Democracy

At the start of each academic year, pupils vote for two children in their class to be representatives on School Council. Pupils also vote for Eco-Committee members, librarians and other monitors. We deliver Votes4Schools assemblies, which allow all pupils to vote on a wide range of topics.

Rule of law

Expectations and consequences are clearly displayed in classrooms and referred to regularly. Our Head Farmers and School Council visit the Houses of Parliament during the school year. PSCOs visit throughout the year to talk about a variety of different topics and to help pupils understand and respect the law.

Individual liberty

We promote freedom of speech through participation in class discussions, including debates, whilst ensuring respect is shown for those with different opinions. E-Safety is taught throughout the whole school. School Council represent each class and allow all children to have their say on different issues affecting school life

Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith

We actively promote diversity through our celebrations of different faiths and cultures. Through our work in PSHE we challenge stereotypes and have a robust anti-bullying policy. We promote respect for others; our RE curriculum supports with acquiring respect for different religions. Our pupils visit places of worship and we welcome visitors in from different faiths to deliver assemblies and workshops.
