Physical Education

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” John F. Kennedy

At Lodge Farm Primary School, children take part in weekly PE sessions, which develop skills in dance, gymnastics, games and athletics. In KS2, children are also given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in outdoor adventure and swimming.

In addition to our PE sessions, children are given opportunities to take part in intra- and inter-school competitions, including football, swimming, multi-skills, cross-country and many more.

PE provides vital education in physical and mental health; we aim to teach our children the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle, so that they are prepared for adult life. It also provides opportunities to develop other skills, such as teamwork, communication, mutual respect and resilience.
